Presenting the Empty Module. What does it do? Absolutely nothing! What do you use it for? You may want to use it to activate module positions without any kind of processing. I use it to activate different portions of my template based on whether a module position is active or not.
You may also want to use it as a base for your own module.
Do with it as you want.
